^ This. I read the "Ghanaian" part as a identifier of who the person in the secret is. Others seem to think that OP has some romanticized view about how Ghanaians are saints, which is... not nearly as logical of an interpretation as they seem to believe.

I don't think it's that weird or illogical of an interpretation. The idea that it would be gross to single out black characters and depict them as villainous isn't really some unusual or unheard of thing; I feel like that's a pretty common sentiment in other contexts. And it doesn't feel like anyone else here has explained why else it would be gross.

It has been explained perfectly well in this thread why it can be considered gross, and it’s completely the fact that a character pretending to be good wasn’t. That’s all OP was saying, and bad faith actors are the ones who read too much into it. Just because it can be considered a common sentiment and character turn in most contexts doesn’t mean the watcher still can’t hate it when it happens. Gross here is being used as a synonym for disappointing, and it’s completely obvious to anyone who doesn’t have an interest in twisting and willfully misinterpreting everything to try to cause wank. And again, this has been explained exhaustively in this thread, and it’s nobody else’s problem that you chose to ignore it to keep pretending OP said or implied something they didn’t.
