I've been acerbic about his acting choices before but he can only improve if he reaches, good for him. Also better direction can do wonders.

Agreed. I actually thought he did an okay job in Legend of Fei even if I didn't enjoy the series much as a whole, and I liked him in Gank Your Heart, too. IMO. The Untamed was a little rough in spots, but I don't blame him, really. It's hard to communicate so much when your face and body language has to remain fairly impassive. I hope it'll be a learning/growing experience for him, he's so young yet.
