pantswarrior: Spock's sehlat is a very serious sehlat. (sehlat)

I still maintain that Arena is a really, really interesting episode with an excellent point! But all people remember about it is Shatner throwing a fake rock at a guy in a bedazzled Godzilla suit.

And then Spock's Brain is just terrible all around but it's so terrible I absolutely love it and will watch it every time it's on and just laugh my head off. BRAIN AND BRAIN! WHAT IS BRAIN?!

Honestly I think ridiculous plots are a great way to get messages across because people who usually get offended by or ignore messages in media might be having too much fun to notice.

Point! ...Wonder if that's what happened with a guy I know. I met him while I was in a mirrorverse cosplay, then found out he was a diehard capitalist and now he's full MAGA. I don't understand why anyone like that would watch Trek, but maybe he really DIDN'T notice.

There are a lot of right wing Trek lovers, and I always wonder if we were watching the same show. Do they not notice that the Federation is a socialist society and is portrayed as an ideal partially for that?

Yeah, it's practically propaganda. How do you not notice this? Unless they're watching it as a dystopian future or something. :P

there needs to be an MST3K version of Spock's Brain. I happen to know Trace Beaulieu is a Trekker....

Oh MAN. I mean, it's hilarious enough even without that treatment, but if it could somehow be made MORE hilarious, I'm sure they could do it. :D
