Texas trans bill

(Anonymous) 2022-03-05 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
Ok last time there was a discussion started by the transphobia troll who told people to become homeless, but what is the current situation in texas re: a bill targeting trans kids and prosecuting their parents? I live in texas and haven't even heard of much of anything except that a judge blocked it from going into effect. Is this similar to the abortion bill in terms of effect? Have people already been affected yet?

Hard to find any info on it even in my local news, so I wanted to ask fellow Texans.

Oh fuck you for rehashing all this. You're as much a troll as anyone else restarting everything. If you really wanted information, you wouldn't be starting your question off with having a go at someone else.

"No, being against a troll is worse than the troll who uses transphobia!" is certainly a point you're choosing to say. Very much disagreed with that lmao. I'm not going to respond to any comment you make, topic ended.

And that last bit is why you are the troll.

Shows that you are still responding, just you are pretending to be someone else.

Nope, but whatever helps you feel better about yourself.

You could ask Case to confirm if you really think we’re the same person, but you’re probably not going to.

Just...google it? Not sure why you think this forum would be the best place to go.

Literally just google "texas trans law".

Because I legit struggle to read due to ADHD anything too long. And the current trend for journalism to turn news articles into longform narratives is frustrating.

J say whether there was a law passed or not. Directive??? Is that a legal thing or not? The closest thing I can tell is that one family is under investigation for having a trans child, but I have no idea how it happened and would appreciate cliffsnotes version.

The whole internet is your friend. I'm not even from America nor am I trans and I know about that bill. That info is widely accessible.

Kinda curious about how many people from Texas are active here, tho.

"The uncertainty over the impact is largely due to the fact that attorney general opinions do not carry the weight of law. In Houston, the county office that represents the state in civil child abuse cases said it would not take any actions based on the letter, and Texas’ largest child welfare advocacy group said it was unclear what judges and prosecutors would do with the opinion."

I'm confused as well. Was hoping that others would know more about this, but I guess it's too soon to know anything.

Not originally from Texas, but I do live there now.
