We heard about DW being a cop, but the only thing we heard about it was, approximately, "haha guess she really is a bastard then". No arguments, just jokes.

Yeah I mean....DW being a cop is so perfect for her that I don't even think there's anything to argue about. Even the people who love DW are aware she likes petty power.

I'm glad you got the good community vibes! I think the ending episode was too sincere for a lot of common cynicism to come into play. I mean, the OG Arthur voice actor was in it! There was too much love, you know?

I watched the final episode of Arthur a few days ago and legit cried. I grew up watching the show and it's one of my ultimate comfort shows, so it was super nice to see Arthur and his friends all grown up (and the OG VA coming back to voice Arthur was a wonderful surprise). I just wish the final episode had been a full half hour so we could've seen what Sue Ellen, Fern, and the Brain were like as adults 'cause they were always my favorite characters.

My only real grievances is the lack of update on Fern (and some of the other reoccurring characters). She was my favorite, so I wanted to know what she grew up as. Otherwise, as someone who grew up with this show, it was perfect. A lovely send-off.

Maybe write a review titled "All the things wrong with show X" or something like that on reddit. That could scratch your itch! And maybe, if you find people who had enjoyed that media and are not too sensible, you can have some good discussion points that you can then share with your friends!

I'm sorry OP. I think you deserve to find a space to speak your mind, even if it's just over media. You have thoughts and it's good that you don't yuck your friends' yum, you still deserve to talk about something that you have a reaction to.

Have you considered finding anon spaces where you can list your gripes with like minded people? Tumblr, reddit, here? Maybe it'll satisfy your itch?

I've searched for reviews/essays on YT from creators I like (yhara zayd, folding ideas, patrick h willhems, etc) to see if they have videos on the show/movie/etc that I didn't like and many videos tend to satisfy my itch.

Are you only more irritable/pessimistic about that or about other stuff in your life too? Because there might be something going on with your emotional and/or mental health if that's the case. Not saying there is, but it's a possibility that poped to my mind while reading your secret. I also agree that the idea of venting online, not directly to your friend, is probably the best: like that, you're not bumming them and you can express yourself freely. Best of luck, I hope you find something new you'll both love.

Is there something in common with all of the recs you dislike? Is there something in common about all the new media you do like? If so, it's not an asshole move to tell your friends "you've given me a lot of A, can we avoid A/can i have some more B?"

Do you still feel connected to these friends? Are all the recs coming from certain people? This may be a proxy for something in your relationship with them.

It may be that none of these things help, but I think it's worth thinking deeper about OP. Any sudden change in impulse is worth looking about your life to see if it's coming from somewhere specific.

That would be one weird and wacked out creepy movie. Would zippee do dah be one of those creepy horror sequences?

I wish Disney would do something with it, the Br'er Rabbit stories are legit American folklore and important to a lot of African-Americans. I get why the movie was tossed in the vault, but it is still a shame that the parts which could be legit are stuck there with the happiness in slavery stuff too.

i remember back when they were promoting the episode where one of marge's sisters comes out by saying that a simpsons character would be confirmed as gay without specifying who, and instead of her the guesses were all for mr smithers (duh) or carl and/or lenny! so regardless of anything else here, that's not new, at least.
