I could never pick, but Dogs And Thunder by Weeping Tile (Sarah Harmer), Basement Apartment by Sarah Harmer and A Long December by The Counting Crows spring quickly to mind.

I also have a weird, almost sub-rational affinity for Glycerine by Bush. I don't know why. With the other two, it's that they speak to me as a whole. With Glycerine it's mostly just how it sounds that I vibe with on some deep level.
