I feel embarrassed about participating in Sanderson's fundme. It is a lot of money, and I think that trying to look like you are being good by removing the publishers from the picture while at the same time forcing ordinary fans to pay hundreds of dollars to get your books is not a good look. But damn it, I love the Cosmere so much, I'm just not willing to miss out.

Rather than going through an official publisher, Sanderson's next few Cosmere books will be published using a Go Fund Me. If you fund a certain amount, you get the next 4 ebooks, if you fund another, bigger amount you get the next 4 in hardback form.

I wouldn't be embarrassed, he's trying something and you want to see if it works out. That's fine and tbqf he's not forcing anyone, he literally says you can wait and get the books on the online store for a limited time or they'll be available through trad pub much later so...
