i say we all stop with the waxing and shaving the way men want us to. it's uncomfortable and itchy!

DA - I say I support you whole heartedly in your choice to do that, and will defend you vocally if anyone gives you shit about it, which they fucking better not, it's 2022 jfc. I say I'm still gonna shave my pits, and my legs on occasion, and my pubes when I'm going swimming, and I'm all good, I do not require liberating from the razor. I say that if you wanted to shave your whole body that'd also be cool, rock on, knock yourself out, you're sheets are going to feel so damn smooth omg, etc.

Body hair is uncomfortable and itchy and gets in the way. I shave even when it's too cold to wear clothes that show my legs and pits.

If a woman shaves in the forest and no man is around to see her, does she still uphold the patriarchy?

Exactly. I'm single, no one has seen my cooch in a few years. I still wax because it's way easier to keep clean down there when I have my period and I don't have the fun experience of hair occasionally getting stuck to the sticky bit of the pad.

I also live in a place that gets very hot and humid in the summer and if I don't shave my pits, they get sweaty and stinky and no one wants that, especially not me. Not all reasons for shaving have anything to do with someone else, there are practical reasons for it too.

NAYRT - I'm ace and have always wanted a hairless vag, honestly, just cuz I like the smoothness, I guess? But man, I can't afford to get it professionally waxed, I bleed from like sixty separate follicles when I try to wax at home, and I get ingrown hairs like crazy when I shave that area. And depilating cream is just too messy and stinky for me, plus I always have to apply it at least twice to get all the hair to shed, maybe three times.

I've given up on my dream of hairlessness. Lol.

Shaving is uncomfortable and itchy for me. Except, whereas I get treated like being less of a woman for my own physical comfort you never will.

I get it being sucky to be treated like you’re less of a woman because you don’t like shaving. I don’t like it either, and I don’t think women should have to if they don’t want to. But that last sentence was unnecessarily passive aggressive to ayrt when they weren’t saying anything hurtful, just stating that they personally feel more comfortable shaving. Which is completely valid, especially because it’s a comfort thing for them, not a societal standard thing.

+1 I hate shaving but with dark hair and pale skin, it's long skirts and swim trunks for me all summer to stay comfortable and avoid stares and mockery, because sure everyone has a choice but society still EXPECTS women to be dolphin-smooth, and THAT'S the problem.
