If it helps, I've been roleplaying for two decades and I still don't enjoy watching other people do it.

I'd echo the tip of describing what your character is doing in third person, I recently adopted the habit and I just enjoy it a lot more than first person. As for speaking in-character.... I don't really have a solution for that. I'd say just play a mute character but that requires a lot of emoting (describing what they're doing) and ofc adds additional difficulty and requires GM permission.

That said a lot of tables aren't particularly roleplay heavy and are very lax about speaking in-character. So many people play this game, I'm sure you could find a group that would suit you, if you'd like to risk it :)
