I don't know if I would go so far as to say that the world of ASOIAF isn't homophobic as much as that we're not really confronted with the issues because most of those named queer characters are insulated by nobility and also... they are younger sons. Once the show decided to make Loras a composite character of all his brothers, they had to find some way to draw him into the Faith Militant's plot against Margaery. These are essentially different character trajectories from the very start.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but as far as I remember, Satin was treated pretty well by everyone, and he was a gay/male sex worker. A couple people say some bad things about him, but Jon treats him with respect and the other brothers do as well. And he's low born.

However he's the only one I can think of.

(Sorry I also have a soft spot for Satin)

You’re right, there is Satin! I also have a soft spot for Satin lol. Though I don’t know if his treatment is representative of the greater world. I find that GRRM’s writing gets particularly idealistic when it comes to anything Jon-related to the point where it feels like that part of the story plays by different rules.

SORRY this was in response to re: issues

I agree with the rest of your comment completely.
