Daenerys being done dirty is the prevailing opinion. It’s one of the biggest criticisms of the ending and season 8 as a whole.

The Tyrells could be controversial as back when they were killed off there was still the belief that the show was just clearing the board to set up more important plots down the road. Even as a reader I got that impression; as much as I like them, I don’t see these characters being terribly important in the endgame being set up.

But the show ended on a wet fart so in retrospect it was all just more wasted potential.

That may be true that it is the prevalent opinion, and biggest criticism as a result, but I have seen some backlash to that opinion. Especially here in some 2019 secrets, discussions relating to Dany got really out of hand. And even though I wasn’t involved in any of those threads, I’m still a bit scared of accidentally dredging that stuff up just by mentioning that I think Daenerys was done dirty. I’m apparently kind of a scaredy-cat lol.

And I guess you’re right about the Tyrells, but I’m still salty about Margaery especially. I know there wasn’t much chance she would make it to the end, and I remember talking to other fans who all said exactly that when I asked what they thought would happen to her.

Dude, don’t be the crazy Dany fan who had a mental breakdown all over the comments and wouldn’t shut up about how Dany was always the most mentally stable so all the people she burned to death deserved it so there and you’re fine.

Although, there was crazy and awful behavior from both sides of that debacle, let’s be real. I know “bothsideism” is considered a cop-out, or untrue most of the time, and it may be that one side genuinely was worse in the long run. But whether one side was worse or not, both of them said crazy and horrific things. So excuse me for being cautious about reigniting any of that. Or being a bit afraid of accidentally summoning the anon in that thread who accused anyone who felt like Daenerys was done dirty by the writers of agreeing with the worst Daenerys defender about her actions being completely justified, that King’s Landing totally deserved it or something. And they also accused everyone who didn’t hate Daenerys as a character after that(and I mean in general, like they still got this way about people who like her but only read the books) as being “another crazy Dany stan who’s okay with her cooking children alive in their own fat(??)”. That last quote is a paraphrase, because I don’t remember the exact one, but it was something horrifying and disturbing like that. And they kept repeating it too. That whole thread was awful, and while I admit to being a scaredy-cat about it, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to be overly cautious about invoking any of that crazy shit again.

Feel however you want, but this passive aggressive “oh I have feels, but I can’t share them because there are meanies who might be mean to me” thing you’re pulling here is some prime bullshit. This com has been incredibly supportive of the people who felt ripped off by the ending of GoT. The “drama” you’re so afraid of was one batshit Dany fan losing her shit so completely and thoroughly that a troll decided to submit a series of “I can’t believe everyone is okay with Indians Jones killing people in the Last Crusade but when Dany kills people it’s bad” troll secrets mocking her. So no. You don’t have to be afraid of “invoking shit” unless you’re copying the original batshit Dany fan or a fucking troll. And frankly, I’m leaning towards fucking troll right now, because people who are actually afraid of starting drama don’t make a big deal about how they would say something if only they weren’t so opposed to starting drama. That sort of hand-wringing is the trademark of melodramatic drama queens and trolls.

Well, you’ve certainly spun a tapestry out of nothing. But I hate to tell you, you’re full of shit. One crazy Dany stan may have started that most of the trouble in that thread, but you don’t seem to actually remember the events that happened afterwards. I’ve looked at the 2019 in the last year, so I remember what happened, even though I don’t remember the exact quotations. The troll that started labeling everyone who didn’t immediately hate Daenerys after that as agreeing with the crazy Dany stan didn’t stop that behavior for months after. They continued their harassment of people who felt like Daenerys was screwed for a while. You have to be cherry picking events to act like this was nothing. And you seem to share a lot in common with that person, how you immediately link “I feel like Daenerys got fucked over, but I’m afraid of bringing up old wank” to that one specific crazy Dany stan. Especially because I’ve already said several times I didn’t agree with that stan.

People in general here might be supportive of the ones who feel like Daenerys got screwed, but it’s not people in general I’m wary of. It’s not “people being mean to me”, it’s dredging up old wank and summoning the bad actors from the depths. Old wank getting dredged up by offhand mentioning happens here. I don’t know if you’re new, or don’t pay attention. But you’re clearly just acting in bad faith, trying to find something to be mad at, and willfully misinterpreting everything I have to say to suit that want. That’s another thing that happens here a lot, and it’s been discussed. People willfully misinterpreting everything, taking the least charitable interpretation of anything just to be mad about something. That’s you 100%, and I don’t know how you haven’t realized it. And it’s really rich that you would accuse me of being a troll with no basis, when your behavior of getting pressed over nothing is way more troll-like. You need to gain some self-awareness and stop projecting, because it’s getting embarrassing.

NGL, I never got into GoT. But I would have had to live in a cave on the moon not to hear all about it when it was The Thing. When people would talk about Dany, it was fairly obvious to my genre savvy ass that she was destined for a bad end. And even taking that into consideration, it sounds like she got screwed by TPTB in the last season.
