Oof, yeah this is a tricky one to navigate because like you I LOVED their relationship as the fantastic bff's they are, and honestly m+f relationships that DON'T turn romantic or have a hint of it are rare as shit in media, but it wasn't lost on me that the only Asian-led MCU movie... didn't have a romance, lmao.

Ugh, it's annoying because our movies shouldn't have to be viewed through the lens of representation first instead of being able to just be fun stories(like they can be over in Korea, China, etc), but we haven't reached the point where there's many Asian-led movies in Hollywood for the trend of 'no romance for the hero' to NOT be noticeable as fuck. It's tricky and I'm not sure there's an answer that would actually please everyone.

(Like to be self-indulgent I'd like them to give Shang-Chi a love interest in the second movie with someone that isn't Katie, while Katie and Xialing date).
