As the comm's resident Starker shipper, I will say that there are some pairings where, personally, I could never ignore the power imbalance, and also would never want to, because ignoring the power imbalance would mean basically making the entire ship feel extremely generic. Starker is very much case in point.

However, there are plenty of pairings where acknowledging the power imbalance is a lot more take-it-or-leave-it for me, and even some cases of subtle power imbalance where I'd prefer it to be largely ignored.
