Hey, so today I decided to shave for the first time in ... a very long time. I'm a very hairy woman and I generally don't bother but I just had a sudden whim in the bath today and decided, "hokay, legs, time to see skin again". Then I thought since I'd already done the legs, I might as well do the armpits because one and not the other would look silly. Currently debating whether the mustache is visible enough to bother...

So... fandomsecret denizens of all identities: what (if anything) do you shave?

Tops of my big toes. Stupid hobbit feet. Sadly, i *do* have a bit of a mustache going in BLACK hair, so i have wee electric 'lady shaver' thing that I use on that, because i'm too blind to pluck the damn things out (just not blind enough to not see them).

That's it.

My 'stash is pretty dark and I'm pretty pale but since Corona and masking, I've just been letting it do its thing ... though now that it's warm enough for outdoor walks I might just bother to attack it again.

I stopped shaving mostly, but hobbit feet aaaaargh! I have to pluck hairs from the top of almost all of my toes

Everything except my head and eyebrows. It is just good hygiene.

lmao do u also think that men are all dirty and nasty for not being hairless as an egg, or does that just go for women? or are u just trying to start drama by saying something u know will set ppl off bc u think that's funny

It's not as long as you bathe, but do whatever you want.

I'm sorry, but no? If you have hair on your head and you wash it regularly, how is that any different from body hair that you presumably also wash regularly? Hair isn't dirty. Having it isn't automatically unhygienic, and not having it isn't automatically hygienic.

I don't shave anything - I'm too lazy to bother and I'm too butch for it too matter that much in my dating life. I do buzz my own hair though, mostly because there's no way I'm gonna pay almost $30 for "3 on the sides, 4 on top."

I tend to use an electric razor to trim, or I tweeze. Armpits, facial hair, and eyebrows get the most attention. Legs only if I'm not covering them up outside, which is rare.

Underarms not because I care how it looks so much as because otherwise deodorant residue can show up if I swipe on too much. Easiest just to remove whatever it would stick to every couple weeks.

Legs if I feel like it, or if I'm going to be wearing a female cosplay that shows the legs. (Male cosplays that show the legs I don't really care.)

I shave my legs (including toes), arms, underarms, and mustache, but I only shave my legs during the summer because it’s too hot for pants. I don’t bother with it the rest of the year ‘cause my legs are Sasquatch-level hairy and take forever to shave.

I always do my armpits because the hair there grosses me out. And my face because I hate that I have a semi-beard and mustache. I only do my legs when I want to wear a dress, and when I do them I only do up to my knees.

Armpits, on account of armpit hair catches smells easily and I'm allergic to a lot of deoderants.

And there's a little bit of facial hair (upper lip and one spot on my chin) that I pluck with tweezers now and then.

Otherwise I leave my hirsute shins and... other stuff, as nature wills.

Tried sugaring and pretty happy with how well that works.

I don't shave my legs or arms. I shave everywhere else though. I find it's easier to keep clean, especially in the Summer/during that time of the month.

Armpits are regularly shaved, helps with body odor. I tweeze my eyebrows about every other week but sometimes get lazy about it and go a month. Legs are shaved once in a blue moon if I'm planning to go over to someone else's house or something. Crotch is kept trimmed, can't stand the feeling of bush hanging out of underwear.

So I out the razor away YEARS ago (and only bring it out on occasion/for emergencies).

I also recently started up removing hair again lol.

Wax: bikini line (have started considering a Brazilian, but I'm very very hesitant on that one)

Thread: my moustache! PLEASE DON'T SHAVE IT OP!!! It will only grow back thicker (unless that's what you're going for, in which case, go right ahead). I used to get my eyebrows threaded but I've stopped (they're still not growing back and I'm not going to try Rogaine, so early 2000s brows for me lol). But the moustache I used get threaded, then after a few YT videos and plenty of trial and error, I got it down!

Epilator : (that little machine that yanks the hairs from the follicles) legs, underarms, and arms. I'll confess I used hair removal cream this time around because the hair was too long, and scissors to trim the underarm hair, but I have to let grow a little otherwise when it tanks long hairs it will hurt too much!

I'm starting up again because I find grooming myself in this way to be a form of self care, and I want to start taking care of myself. Best of luck, OP!

I shave my underarms, my chin and upper lip, and my chest above my boobs. Very very occasionally, I'll pluck my myriad long black boob hairs. Even that carries a risk of ingrown boob hairs (boob pus is disgusting) but not so bad as shaving them would be.

Sugaring works but leaves boob bruises, and I generally don't use it elsewhere because I have to let the hair grow out a bit for it to work.

Legs, armpits, bikini line.

Pits, all the time. Bikini and legs occasionally.

I have a lot of leg hair but it's extremely fine and pretty light, so even if I don't shave my legs it's not too visible.

My hair has really deep, strong roots, though, so unfortunately epilating or waxing is excruciating. Every time I've tried waxing my bikini area I have ended up bleeding from so. many. pores.

I don't shave. My leg hairs aren't very noticable and very thin. I don't have armpit hairs. The hairs on my knuckles and arms don't bother me much anymore, and they're not that noticable anyway!

However, I do get my eyebrows threaded and upper lips threaded! I highly recc threading face hair over shaving!

Nothing. I got lucky, all my body hair is pale blonde and invisible unless you're really close. My eyebrows and eyelashes are a little darker so visible and naturally a good shape. I just leave it all alone. I would probably look more groomed if I did something with my brows but I just don't care enough.

I shave my underarms, because it's easier to wash off antiperspirant when there's no hair. I tried epilating (that machine that pulls the hair from the hair plugs), but I couldn't contort myself to a position where the skin was pulled tight enough that it didn't also get in between the "blades". That was painful and bloody.
I epilate my legs in summertime, when I wear shorts and sometimes in winter when the mood strikes me. I prefer the epilator to shaving because the results last longer, and it's not painful to me.
And I pluck my eyebrows. I like the fifties Hollywood star look, thin and high, dramatic arch. Obviously my brows don't grow quite that high XD, but I puck them to that shape. I hate the bushy thick brows that are in style these days. SMH. I think they're ugly. Of course it's not my business what other people do with their brows, it's just that I would never go for that look.

I'm AFAB and pretty hairy and I don't shave anything. I tried to when I was younger, but I've always felt it was "wrong" doing that to MY body. Now at 30+ years old I identify as a butch lesbian who adores her very hairy legs. Haven't shaved anything in years, now. I just pluck the occasional coarse chin hair. I wish I had more armpit hair, but nature unfortunately didn't provide.

Nobody asked this, but I'm still going to share bacause I have a personal agenda (lol): I don't care what others do with their body and grooming habits, but I personally find unshaved armpits on women incredibly sexy. (not on men because, again, I'm a lesbian.)
