Transcript: So I live in a fairly large metropolitan area with a healthy regional theatre scene. A lot of my friends are theatre people, and so I get a front row seat (lol) on the struggles when it comes to putting on new and less established works in particular. Part of me is really tempted to make a Facebook group or subreddit or something that would put an equal spotlight on smaller regional theatres and new works - there's always a major disparity in local press between the two or three "big theatres" and the rest of them, and it's particularly bad in the area I live in.

The problem? Like a lot of places, the major theatre-going audience is pretty old and VERY risk-adverse - a couple years ago there was a LOT of public drama when a major regional theatre decided to do "Pacific Overtures" for their annual Sondheim musical over one of his better-known works because people felt like that theatre was "wasting" that year's Sondheim musical slot. I know for a fact that if I started something up I would either a) not get engagement except for the stuff that already gets a bunch of press as it is, b) not get engagement at all, or c) end up being the person stuck moderating a ton of petty drama that I already hate being on the periphery of.

TLDR: I'm a coward and regional theatre drama sucks.

While there is no doubt that college is overpriced, it is still a benefit. Even those so-called useless degrees have graduates expressing job satisfaction. It isn't just learning the subject, but learning how to learn properly and how to express that learning properly. The only major change that colleges need to make, apart from being cheaper, is to fold in a small business course to each degree so that those wanting to make their subject their own gig, know how to do so effectively.

Does anyone know any good books for learning how to cook effectively with spices. I'm from a region where spices started and ended with salt and pepper, and maybe a little garlic if you wanted to be "exotic", and I want to learn to cook better. Is there a spices for dummies book?

I think, if anything, the response to this disproportionately large. One guy made a shitty joke about another guy's wife, the other guy slapped him. Both are not great things to do, but they could have just apologised and that would be case closed. But I guess nobody really cares much about the Oscars these days, so the media have to artificially inflate this rather trivial situation into a scandal. I wouldn't even be surprised if it was all staged.

I feel so conflicted because I don't like Ross but totally get his exasperation with some of the stuff Phoebe believes because that'd annoy me too. So I actually end up on his side!

Any time I try to decide who my least favourite is (other than Ross) I do usually land on Phoebe I have to say.

While parts of my college experience did feel like a waste at the time and tbh I still feel like course requirements were set so the university could milk more money from me (I did not need business calculus or biochemistry for my English degree thanks), just having a degree opens many doors that would remain closed without it.

Hey, so today I decided to shave for the first time in ... a very long time. I'm a very hairy woman and I generally don't bother but I just had a sudden whim in the bath today and decided, "hokay, legs, time to see skin again". Then I thought since I'd already done the legs, I might as well do the armpits because one and not the other would look silly. Currently debating whether the mustache is visible enough to bother...

So... fandomsecret denizens of all identities: what (if anything) do you shave?

Yeah, describing it as the worst thing to ever happen at the Oscars including that time they gave an Oscar to a child abuser and a rapist, as well as seeking to completely destroy Smith's career, is well out of proportion. And I think the first commentor kinda has it as to why too.

Tops of my big toes. Stupid hobbit feet. Sadly, i *do* have a bit of a mustache going in BLACK hair, so i have wee electric 'lady shaver' thing that I use on that, because i'm too blind to pluck the damn things out (just not blind enough to not see them).
