Chris Rock told a terrible joke, and he’s previously made fun of Jada’s condition before. But just because Will did something bad, you’re glorifying this spiteful, tasteless joke, and treating Chris like a poor innocent person who did nothing wrong, instead of a rich and famous comedian with just as much culpability here. That’s kind of dumb. Nobody should be slapped for telling jokes, but jokes aren’t exempt from criticism. And the people criticizing Chris as well as Will are the ones who actually have perspective on this situation, unlike the people arguing about who’s right and who’s wrong like they both can’t be wrong.
