Re: Who is your least favorite film director

I am pretentious I guess, but my least favorite directors are whose who are really popular, but I dislike their movies.
Like Tarantino or Shyamalan, just can't stand them.
I can't really dislike Michael Bay, since I rarely see anyone actually liking his movies even though I think his movies are shitty.
I am a bit weird with Christopher Nolan, because I think his movies are fun, but not that smart and genius as brofans think. So I am wary of Nolan's fans.
I really dislike Burton, because I liked his movies as a teen, but he is really stale, his movies do not change at all.

Also there are directors whom I hate, but they are local to my country and it's mostly political hatred

Hm...yeah, Christopher Nolan is a competent director who has creative ideas with all of his films, but I don't find him as interesting as his fans do. I like some of his films but they don't appeal to me as heavily, and NGL after "The Dark Knight Rises" I never found much interest in his films again. I thought "Inception" was a really good movie, and then "The Dark Knight Rises" came out and I didn't like it. Between that and the weird culture around his fans, I'm not interested in his films or the discourse around them.

I absolutely love Christopher Nolan’s films, enough to put him on my favorites list! But I admit that my reasoning is that I enjoy his movies a lot, and for no deeper reason than that. So I get being wary about his super fan bros who put him up on a lot pedestal as the greatest film genius to ever live. I don’t think he’s anywhere close to that. And I’m also not very intellectual or deep when it comes to films I like, even arthouse films. I’m all about aesthetics, spectacle, and entertainment when it comes to movies(which is weird, because I love discussions about deeper themes and symbolism for basically every medium except film, and I don’t know why film is the medium where I prefer to turn my brain off and just watch). So I don’t spend a lot of time talking about movies on the internet with people, because there’s not much for me to discuss. And I definitely don’t spend time on Film Twitter, because that’s where all the obnoxious, toxic film bros hang.

SA
I like his movies because basically they are quite quirky and visually pleasing. But bros seem to build religion on them, this movies are not this deep, ffs.
Also tenet has extremely simple action plot, just with fun timey wimey
