Quentin Tarantino is one of those directors whose films I can enjoy but I never found his movies as amazing or cool or whatever as much as everyone else. I always thought I maybe I wasn't getting it, but now that I'm older maybe it's because I grew up on martial arts movies and exploitation films too and so his movies were just among other movies. I didn't see how "new and interesting" it was for him to dress up exploitation and martial arts movies. Like, yeah that's cool I guess but you know, Jackie Chan's still cooler because he actually did his stunts. Bruce Lee did it first and did it better. QT's just imitating. He's just another white guy appropriating other people's hard work and culture, and then acts like his POV is the authority on everything he's into. Embarrassing, aging and overrated.

Oh man, John Woo! He hasn't made a good film since "Hard Boiled". I'll give him..."Face/Off" is a lot of fun.
