Well I got to see (via someone holding up their phone towards their TV and streaming on Discord) the first five episodes of Tiger & Bunny 2 last night and I will just say that my fears of them not being able to recapture the magic in a second season they never planned to make, after an 11 year hiatus?

COMPLETELY UNFOUNDED. It has been amazing so far, and I have not laughed so hard in years as I did at the episode with Karina and Ryan.

I watched one episode of the first season of that I think. Not sure yet whether it;s my thing. I'm glad you weren't disappointed though!

Yeah, honestly I was rewatching the first season in hopes of "someday" watching the second season just before my friend was like "hey I'm going to try to stream it tonight" and much like every single anime I've ever watched, the first few episodes are kind of lackluster before it gets up to speed. (The second season, IMO, did not have that problem because they assume you already know the characters/premise and don't have to spend so much time scene-setting.)

And I'll admit it's not for everyone. (Nothing is.) Apparently the show was pitched as being for older Japanese men who weren't interested in anime and liked western superhero comics. They didn't think anyone else would like it either, which is why it took 11 years to make a season 2. :D

I've watched about five eps of Tiger & Bunny S2 so far and I'm loving it too! It's wonderfully in line with S1 and Kotetsu and Barnaby are even more married than they were before. (Also I kinda ship Fire Emblem and Sky High now? Like, a lot? I did not expect that.)

Every time the ending credits started to roll, I'd unmute myself on Discord and go "They are SO MARRIED." It's like they intentionally end every episode with Kotetsu and Barnaby being shippy. (And uh, yay, the fic I wrote so many years ago still works! :D)

And yeah, that last scene with Sky High and Fire Emblem was... something. But darnit, I can't ship it, I still want to see Nathan finally wear down Antonio. XD They are awfully cute though.

Yeah it seems like it kinda flew under the radar for the most part. I'm just part of a really dedicated group over at FB who was literally counting down the hours and several of them staying up until 3am to watch it as soon as it was released, hahaha.
