Read what you want OP. What do you want to gain from the books you read? If you want to be mentally stimulated to ruminate on the darker themes in life/darker, more serious things then it's good for you to seek out books that will provide that. But if you've only been in the mood for light, fluffy stories, and you are thinking of reading heavier stuff out of a sense of guilt or judgment, really ask yourself if you do want to read something different? Will you get the satisfaction you are seeking when it comes to reading books?

It's OK to only want to read light, not-so-deep stories! The world is really fucked up right now. It's OK to want to find some escapism in easy-to-digest books.
