Finally watched Midnight Mass about a million years behind everyone else.

I (mostly) loved Hill House and Bly Manor, including the monologuing but Mike Flanagan went too far with this one. Overall the show was great and hit many of my thematic buttons but there were way too many times where I thought "will you people SHUT UP!?" and any beauty in the message was lost in the fact that I was now bored.

I don't mind "talky" shows at all, but dial it back a notch next time Mike.

That's a pretty common response! I loved MM for the most part but god, Erin's final monologue went on forever.

I had to encourage my sister during that scene that it would be over soon as it kept going and going.

The long monolouges were the best parts of the show for me, but I began watching it without knowing anything about the creator or the kind of show it'd be. I honestly thought it'd be a trashy horror TV show and I was genuinely surprised.
But yeah, it's not something you should be watching if you're not in the mood of something reaaaaaly slow. I got lucky with my initial surprise and my general mood and loved it to bits.
