... but you wouldn't mind if someone else made them for you! As always, including the fandom and full character names is a big help, and I'll try my best to use an appropriate image choice. Just to clarify - it's my intention to make all the secrets left in this thread, so even if they're not marked claimed, they will be made.

I'll monitor this thread until tomorrow's secret post goes up, so feel free to leave your comments until then!

I used to watch Highway to Heaven with my grandmother, and I never revisited the show after she passed. I just didn't want to taint the happy memories if the show didn't hold up. I recently rewatched a couple of episodes though; and I have no idea if it holds up or not, but the memories we made sure do. I am so glad I rewatched it, it felt like I had my grandma back for a little while.

To me, no piece of fiction has ever truly captured the nature of faith and belief like the M*A*S*H episode "Quo Vadis, Captain Chandler". It is just *chef's kiss*. Especially the "sometimes the answer is no" scene. Just watch it.

I hate how every few years someone starts saying we should re-appraise Birth of a Nation as cinema. No, we shouldn't. It is horrendously racist and that is ALL it should be remembered for.

I've been watching a lot of younger people's reaction youtubes to old Doctor Who and I have been pleasantly surprised to find that when they came to the Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy era that they completely love the campiness of it all. One of them even called Mel her favourite companion because she was so energetic and upbeat. It is such a change from how we miserable oldies viewed it at the time. It is wonderful, it truly is. The kids are gonna be all right.

The streaming wars are making a really good case for buying stuff on physical media again. If possible, I always try to buy the DVD or bluray of a show rather than try to play streaming service roulette to find where it ended up, especially since I live in non-USAland.

Star Trek Discovery would be better if it had a different lead character. Of all the characters in the show, Burnham is the most boring. She's the weak link in an otherwise strong team.

The real Vlad the Impaler is far scarier and more horrifying than any Dracula movie ever was. Why haven't we had a horror franchise just based on the actual guy?

It's Seam anon here! I always wanted to thank you for making that secret, but I don't come here that often, so I kind of missed the post ^^;

All the vagina!Seam Deltarune manga on Pixiv got take down by the creators and I'm so sad now. :<

Fun fact, though: the reason there used to be vagina!Seam art on Pixiv is that Seam uses the personal pronoun "atashi" in the Japanese translation of Deltarune. Atashi used to be a gender-neutral pronoun, so it was probably meant to show that Seam is old, but in the present day, it's a very feminine pronoun, so that's probably why Japanese manga-ka initially thought they were female. And since Japanese dialog doesn't use a lot of pronouns, it was easy to pretend they were just DFAB gender neutral. :3

I'm really looking forward to Thor: Love and Thunder. I'm not looking forward to the inevitable nonstop whining from the usual suspects about Natalie Portman's character in it.

I know King of Kings is the better Jesus movie, but I still think The Greatest Story Ever Told is a more enjoyable movie.

Finally watched Midnight Mass about a million years behind everyone else.

I (mostly) loved Hill House and Bly Manor, including the monologuing but Mike Flanagan went too far with this one. Overall the show was great and hit many of my thematic buttons but there were way too many times where I thought "will you people SHUT UP!?" and any beauty in the message was lost in the fact that I was now bored.

I don't mind "talky" shows at all, but dial it back a notch next time Mike.

My pet peeve is when characters who are supposed to be brilliant authors/film makers/whatever create something that is their canon autobiography. It is such lazy writing and so up its own ass.

(Premium example of this - Rory writing her and Lorelai's stories as her magnum opus in Gilmore Girls.)

I really, really, want a tv series set in pre-dynastic Egypt. But I want it to be more like an ancient Egyptian version of Dynasty rather than it being more like a Game of Thrones or The Crown. Make it gloriously trashy.

The secret is that I only ship their French-dubbed versions and I headcanon both characters as femboys.

I laughed way too hard during Blue Velvet (1986). "Baby wants to fuck!" is one of the most awful lines ever uttered in a film and it was said during an equally horrific scene... but the delivery was so goddamn funny! I'm even laughing as I type this secret out!

I would love to see a reboot of the 80s Jem and the Holograms series that kept some of the over the top 80s melodrama and batshit insanity of the original. Bring on Synergy being built to be Jerrica and Kimber's surrogate mother and weekly chick rock battles to save the orphanage!

I know I can't control other people's behaviors or beliefs, but I spend too much time worrying about how I hope my favorite British actors, musicians, etc. aren't secretly raging transphobes.

I think I'm in the midst of a slow, painful breakup with my current fandom. It's always been precious about a lot of things, but lately the Cult of Nice hellpit hypocrisy is really getting to me. It's riddled with self-righteous, holier-than-thou types who think that because they are stanning for a Good character and Good pairings, that means they are automatically Good people. So whenever they are mean or bully other fans or act like assholes, it's justified. It's gotten so bad that they not only behave like they think their shit doesn't stink; they've convinced themselves that it actively can't.

I still love most of the canon and my favorite characters, but the behavior of so many people in the fandom is souring me on the fandom side of things.
