It is very awkward to discuss! And yeah, I totally feel not necessarily having control over who joins and who doesn't. There's plenty of actors/characters that I would not mind joining -- but there's just no...spark? Reason? That said, I've had characters/actors that are "semi-retired" -- for example some MCU characters I used to devour fic for a few years ago, now? Eh. I can't say I can control that -- I'm just not feeling you right now?

Anyway, maybe read some fic of the character or watch movies with actor to get them going/start making a place for them in your subconscious? I don't really know how it works (for example, I don't need a sex dream, but others might -- like you described!) But I know at some point in the past few years I could not find a care to give about Pedro Pascal. Then suddenly, an attraction for him hit me like a freight train! Attraction is a curious thing. Please feel free to discuss what you'd like, OP!

LOL, it's good to find a kindred spirit even when it's something like having a mental harem! I know what you mean by getting hit like a freight train. It's usually sex dreams that kick it off for me, and that's just weird. Sometimes it's somebody I haven't really given any thought to at all, but then ~~*~~seeeeex dreaaaaam~~*~~ and yeah, I'm hooked.

Watching media doesn't seem to influence me much because it's kind of as though I've got a specific actor TOO much on my mind? And then my subconscious is like oh well, no need to dream about them. That's always how it's been for me, it's maddening.

It's so weird to me that people have sex dreams about real people, celebrities or not. But I'm almost 40 and can count mine on one hand with fingers to spare, and they weren't arousing at all.

I guess I should've figured out that I was asexual a lot sooner.

Cursed random sex dreams are so weird. It's been a while since I've had one though.

OK So this is probably just total and utter BS but give it a try. I read this in a women's magazine (Jane, DOES ANYONE HERE REMEMBER JANE MAGAZINE??) when I was like 15. I can't recall if my Orlando Bloom dreams ever came to pass.

What You Will Need:
-Candle/essential oils; something to give you a specific scent
-Picture of the celebrity you want to dream of
-letter where you write what you want to happen in your dream (in the 21st century we have fanfics too)

What You Do:
1. Write out your fantasy (or find a fic)
2. Right before you fall asleep, stare at the picture(s), light up the candle to get the scent going, stare at the picture some more, read your fanfic, stare at the picture, put the candle out.
3. Inhale the scent as you think about the celeb, and as you try to go to sleep, relive the story in your head. Breathe slowly and apparently this is how you end up having your sex dream

I wish I could purposely induce sex dreams. Especially the fictional characters I'm that into, it's the only way I can actually touch them because in a dream we're made of the same substance.
