I mean, I think he only uses "wastaken" on websites where just "dream"....is taken. It's a joke. Where he can just use "dream", he does.

Op was disappointed it wasn't a meaningful name, and that he was too unoriginal to come up with a different name...except he already went by dream on minecraft prior to other platforms, so he was already dream.

(I know too much about this minecrafter thanks to middle schoolers.)

I'd think it would be more annoying if DreamWasTaken was a sincerely deep nickname/username tbh. Maybe in a fantasy world where descriptive names like that are common?

If your proposed reason was legit, it would be cringe. As it is, dude's just practicing good brand rep.
