My physical recovery has progressed to the point I can lift 5kg weights. When I first started I couldn't even manage a single kilogram in both hands, now I can manage a five kilogram weight in each. It may not sound a lot, but this is a big step for me. It has taken a long time and a lot of work, but I'm almost into healthy people weights.

At first, I found the concept of Krakoa interesting: mutants forming their own country but the writers never actually did anything with it! The vibe "We are mutants so wee are above human things like death but also democracy" is just weird. Claiming that your society is a utopia is fine and dandy but, by definition, utopias don't exist so show me how you are building it! Are there mutants who disagree on how the council runs things? Who are they? What are their arguments? How does the council deal with them? Are all mutants OK with letting go of their cultural background (especially those who are not American) to assimilate into the new mutant culture? What about the mutants who don't want to move to Krakoa? It could have provided a lot of internal conflict for the X-Men but no, nothing.

I got bond for my client on Friday. Super happy for that. Still have a long way to go to get him status so he can stay here. But at least he's out of detention. I'm happy for him. And honestly I really needed a win at work.

Also, I got a lot of cleaning done this weekend to get ready for trip next week. Got my car cleaned out (it was bad). Got my room cleaned. Currently on laundry load 4. So I feel accomplished. Next step is packing so I don't have to do it tomorrow night.

I actually wrote something in the last week that wasn't Vagrant Story or a quick-and-easy meme fic. I'm astonished. (I don't know if it's any good, hoping to hear back from my ex, since it goes with things we wrote together years ago.)

As someone who doesn't follow or know about this, can you expand more on the hypocritical purity culture?

Because I follow a lot of "character of the day" accounts, and this doesn't seem unusual. There are a fair amount of accounts like that for disabilities (some specific, some broad). It's nice to see a character that reflects me and people with different disabilities.
