I felt bad for Bonnie Wright. She's not beautiful in the same way Emma Watson is, but she is actually quite pretty in just a normal way.

Same! She was cute and I thought she looked like a fresh face younger sister as she should being a year younger then the others.

I just felt awful when I read in a magazine how a producer or director talked smack on her 'failing' to grow up hotter. That she had been selected for the potential of her hot looks (which I think was based on how her mom looked? Which is just ew to me) she would get after she hit puberty.

"she looked like a fresh face younger sister" was exactly what people saw as the problem though - they were expecting her to look like the beautiful romantic lead rofling tried to write her as, not... well, your best mate's kid sister

(the fact that the romance was so badly written in the books as well really didn't help)

See, you’re losing me with the bit where you think Ginny was supposed to be some kind of supermodel in the books when she was written as a sporty, moderately attractive girl who got over her blind hero worship of Harry and had a completely average dating life before she and Harry got back together later.

Like, I’m not arguing about the “JKR can’t write romance” thing, but Ginny was always written as the girl next door.
