I was gonna say there's at least one in my city! -but, alas, just looked it up and it has closed :( Probably long ago, since the last Yelp review is from 2008.

Similarly, I’d recently heard a lesbian bar in an old neighborhood of mine was still open - it was the only one I knew of in the area. This thread prompted me to look it up and wow, did it shift strongly to a gay/mlm clientele.

I don't get it. I mean, obviously bars are businesses and they have to do what's profitable... but the one I remember was a happenin' place! Didn't realize there was a phenomenon across the US until seeing this thread.

ayrt - yeah, I’m curious when the shift happened. I know that for the one I went to (which was oooh geez a little over a decade ago), it also felt like it got decently packed, but 1. most of the patrons I remember seeing there were on the early side of their twenties, so maybe not necessarily sticking around the area, and 2. it looks like at least one of the nearby gay bars that was a big mainstay closed during covid, and the bar might have picked up some of the performers & events that used to happen at those. Really had no idea about this phenomenon either…
