Being good at wearing costumes and makeup is a skill. There's a reason Lon Chaney is famous.

Spoilers for Futurama I guess?

Honestly, though. How in the world are they going to top "Wanna go around again?" as a finale? Every time the show has ended, Fry and Leela's relationship has been the focus, but now they've had an entire lifetime together, loving each other.

On one hand, I've definitely said "how will they top this?" to myself about pretty much every (temporary) finale, and they kept proving me wrong, but... That arc just feels very complete to me and I suspect anything else they (Fry and Leela, not the writers) do will feel like a step backwards.

I really love Futurama, but the later episodes just weren't as good as the older ones IMO. I feel the same way about King of the Hill and I'm not sure I want new content for either, but I'll give both a shot.

I haven't seen this, so someone tell me if she's better or worse than Tatiana Maslany on Orphan Black.

Pretty good! Went to the beach and got sunburned despite wearing a ton of sunscreen, but I still had a nice time.

What hobbies are you trying to force yourself into doing, nonny?

I thought he was famous for walking with the Queen, doing the werewolves of London.

Atoli from .hack//GU. My god what an irritating moralizing hypocrite.

2nd Pfizer shot. The first one seemed to hit me "like a normal person", with just a couple days of being really achy and not wanting to move, and my shoulder was a little more achy than the rest of me. This one, I was fine until I went to bed that night, and "Well if I get no side effects this time, that'll be okay by me!"

Then woke up after a couple hours with my shoulder in so much pain I couldn't find a position that was comfortable, and trying to lift a glass to take a drink was nearly unbearable, plus I had that skin-crawly feeling that suggests I had a fever. All of Friday I was pretty much flat, no muscle aches but the shoulder, but just horrible fatigue, and had to really psyche myself up to even roll over to type on the laptop or get a drink. Then pretty much passed out for 7 hours and woke up with indications I'd had a fever and it broke (I never sweat except when that's going on), and was instead flattened all day today by the usual GI nonsense. Which was so bad I might not have noticed anything else. :P

Two Pfizers and a Moderna or vice versa seems to be the best way to go for maximum protection, and minimum side effects as a bonus, so if this lasts long enough, that's what I'll be doing too. Apparently "covid arm" is a thing that happens with Moderna - a friend got her fourth shot (second booster) not long ago and she said that she had really bad arm pain and welts with the first couple, but then started switching arms every time and it never happened again. So that sounds like a plan.

Ugh, yes, very annoying. And kind of more broadly that so much credit goes to them for creating the series, when I think it’s gotten substantially better as time goes on and they figure out their own thing.

Thanks! Yeah, I was admittedly being a little bit trollish, but the show has that same sort of sense of humor so I was hoping for people to laugh at the plot twist rather than be annoyed. But you never know. (I'm already working on something that will hopefully please those who were hoping it was going where it initially looked like it was going...)

(Anonymous) 2022-05-01 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
Ooof, yeah. Whether or not that was what the writers intended, it did come off as “I would brush off your role in systematic genocide, but unfortunately, you killed my mother.”

Note: I know little-to-nothing of the comics. From the film alone, it seemed both tone-deaf and unsatisfying.

Currently? Jeanne and Dominique from The Case Study of Vanitas. An anime that would have been great if there weren't any unnecessary love interests with bland (Jeanne) and annoying (Domi) personalities. The time I spent watching it is now a waste because they were so cliche it ruined everything. And no, it's not because they were 'in the way' of the two main guys. I didn't ship them either.

Yeah, I definitely got covid arm with the Moderna, but didn't really get the fever/crappy 'coming down with something' feeling. The joint pain just seems to be how my body processes weird immune stuff, but since rheumatoid arthritis flare-ups are one of the actual documented rare side-effects of the mrna vaccines it does make me a little nervous for what the future holds for me.

Well, he wasn't called "The Impaler" for nothing, although iirc some of the stories may have been propaganda by his/his country's enemies, but not all of them.

Ugh, yeah. That's not a great omen to have. :/ Kind of similar, I was worried my side effects were going to manifest as GI disturbances (since covid itself sometimes manifests as a GI illness) in me because well, pretty much everything does. As unpleasant as it was, I feel like I dodged a bullet.

Hook from Once Upon a Time. The rape jokes got really old, really fast. Zelena, also from OUAT--the rape got really old really fast, especially since by the time she showed up the writers knew from the reaction to Regina just how mad people would get about it.

Now that certain corners of fandom is flocking back to tumblr from twitter, I am looking forward to a "Taikapocalypse" now that Misha Collins officially jumped his fandom shark.

That being said, I do think the fast-paced elevation is going to end well. If the fans go their usual obsessive, quickly veering into harassment route, he seems the type to tell them to f off and they'll lose their minds.

Oof. I had honest-to-god food poisoning earlier this year and took a covid test just to make sure it wasn't some weird manifestation of covid. I have serious paranoia about giving covid to someone else because I don't know I have it. That was actually food poisoning though, which I also don't wish on anyone.

Yeah, but mostly agains Ottoman Empire.
I'm personally not sure if his biopic'd be more interesting than Count Dracula stories.

I tend to dump series if I really hate a recurring character, particularly if it's one that I'm not supposed to hate.

With that said, Arden (aka Princess Pity Party) in the Toby Daye series just generally annoys the fuck out of me. In a series where almost every single character has a tragic backstory, maybe the literal magical fairy queen shouldn't be the one who whines about it the most.

(Anonymous) 2022-05-01 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
The key is whether the person leans into it, or whether they just continue doing their own thing and let it gradually deflate

(Anonymous) 2022-05-01 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
Most of my interest in Dracula circles around proto-himbo John Harker and the blatant homoeroticism, so I'm guessing Vlad's real life political shenanigans aren't going to hold the same appeal. I think they could be interesting in their own right as political drama.
