I'm surprised there hasn't been a movie about John Brown's raid on Harpers Ferry already, especially in the early 2000s when The Last Samurai came out. Like, Hollywood was all about doing stories about poc staring a white guy. John Brown is RIGHT THERE and he has so much action movie dialog already on the books. But yeah, I'd be 100% down with watching a mid budget R-Rated action movie about militant abolitionists. Fredrick Douglass can be the Big Good (tm). There's a weird flashback to Harriet Tubbman. Slave owners get murdered with spears. It would make 3$ at the box office.

I am all about high violence grind-house movies with a quasi-progressive spin APPARENTLY because my second nomination is Romaine-la-Prophétesse. Romaine was a black revolutionary leader during the first stages of the Haitian Resolution. They took on the female "prophetess" persona to closely align with the Virgin Mary but it's easy to see this figure as trans or otherwise non-cis in some way. They gave fiery speeches with a saber in one hand and an inverted cross on the other about how God was black and commanded they fight for their freedom. Romaine's forces conquered and held two cities for a while before all the French forces were like "Oh shit having two cities in the hands of rebel slave armies is a PROBLEM actually" and stopped fighting each other to retake those cities. Romaine escaped and history loses track of them. This figure is so cool and unusual and I would love to see some attention thrown this way. Honestly there are a ton of things about the Haitian revolution that would make some sick action movies. There's no way they wouldn't be horribly offensive to someone if made by Americans but fuck it this is my fantasy.

And now for one that wouldn't need to press against an NC17 rating: the life and times of Jack Kirby. He's a cool guy and a neat artist and he deserves WAY more credit for super hero stuff.

John Brown might get banned in Florida for being critical race theory though.
