I can't help but think show!Wheel of Time would have a bigger fandom if there were more prominent shippable men.
Sure there's Rand and Mat, but Rand is pretty obnoxiously stuck on Egwene, and Mat is "problematic".
Of course, I'd be annoyed by fandom if they overfocused on male characters AGAIN, but at least there would be more content.

The series is in sort of a weird place. The first season was a very small run of episodes and they had a lot of material to get through, so the pace kinda whipped through everything that was going on. There wasn't a lot of time to really linger in any one place and build up the relationships. Hopefully they can be a little more relaxed with the pacing for the next few seasons - I think that would also help more people get shippy with things (and then they can cut out a bunch of material from the later, sloggy books to compensate).
