The same can be applied to people that don't preorder or order games at day one and wait for them to go on sales. If you don't buy almost immediately or don't go watch the movie at the theatre and instead buy the DVD years later you are directly "hurting" the sales figures. Also, second hand markets and auctions are included in this, too. Money don't directly go to people that made the media, so... ? how is it different than pirating in this case?

Don't you see how this argument is not good at all if applied to piracy?
I don't think that piracy is morally good and just, but almost all the arguments AGAINST piracy are just not well thought IMHO.

Like I said, money is limited. I prefer investing mine in markets that for me have more artistic value, so in my case doujinshi and indie games. If EA or Disney want to cry because they don't get my money... well, let them cry. I know I probably should be sorry for people working there but IDGAF honestly.

Also, people pirating USUALLY don't get upset over stuff like not having sequels or reboots. We know... We fucking know. We are not stupid. And this is not counting the fact that regarding TV shows, a lot of them only count view from the USA. So in case of overseas viewvership we don't really count.
BTW this is why I'm really only upset over the fact that I've been paying Netflix since it's been available in my country and they keep cancelling ALL the series I'm invested into.
