I like to buy the DVDs/Blu-rays of my favorite shows too, but mainly ‘cause I like to collect stuff. I bought all of That 70s Show even while it was on Netflix because I love it that much and I’m glad I did ‘cause it’s not on there anymore.

Yeah, that's a very good reason to buy DVDs. I do live in the States, but I do the same thing, too, mainly because some streaming services will remove a show after a time, so it's nice to have the physical copy of it in case I want to watch it again. Plus, even if the show stays on the streaming service, for me, it's just much easier to rewatch with DVDs than streaming - I might only be able to subscribe to a streaming service for a short amount of time. But if I own the DVDs, I can put those on any time I want, there's no time limit to how long I have to watch the show.

If I really like something and ever want to actively re-watch it I always buy a physical copy. Streaming is fine but I don't own any of it and I know I'll be so annoyed if Netflix really does crash because all the K and C dramas I have saved to my list will be gone with no way for me to actually keep them, as well as the original shows of theirs I like.

We used to buy discs for everything we liked and our collection got out of hand so we stoooed buying. But streaming is such an awful experience all around for us and we’ve since started buying discs again, we’re just far more selective about which discs now. We still have Prime because of shopping but we weren’t getting our money’s worth from any other service and we cancelled them all.

How are they making a good case for buying physical dvds? I have no interest in acquiring loads and loads of dvds to stack around in the space I haven't got.

My space is way too limited for buying physical copies of things. A couple of years ago I threw out the boxes for all of my media and the discs are now stored in one of those giant 400-disk storage binders, and even that feels like it takes up a lot of unnecessary space. Not to mention the waste created by throwing out everything but the disk.

I will pay to rent something if it's available, but after that I am torrenting it.

I buy anime still on physical discs but it can be hard to find live action stuff since not everything gets a physical release nowadays. Luckily it can still be obtained on the high seas, so that's where I go.

I learned my lesson in keeping physical media ever since I collected out of print vhs for obscure films.

Now the obscure films I enjoy get fancy, but very limited edition blu-rays I have to pay good money for if I missed out during its initial release.

I've never signed up for any streaming service or anything. I'm really old-fashioned, if I can't hold it in my hands, I assume it's not real :p.
For serious though, all the streaming service BS and people getting their e-books and iTunes randomly deleted or replaced over the years has only made me more set in my ways of buying hard copies of everything. And if a hard copy doesn't exist, I burn a cd of it myself.

Oh, fuck, same.... for any disorienting, sudden motion, in fact. I'm glad most of the games I picked up allow for adjusting in the options, but I have had to return some games that I just couldn't make work for me.

Those moments with Inuyasha, Kagome, and Moroha were easily the best parts of Yashahime and I’ll be forever annoyed that the show focused on the twins instead of best girl Moroha and her parents.
