Online piracy can increase the Internet Buzz, though. This boosts viewership, which in turn means more people consuming the TV show/movie legally.

Look at all those most pirated TV show lists! Those are usually the most successful and talked about shows out at the moment.

Those shows that don't get sequels, future seasons, reboots, etc. wouldn't have gotten that anyway. Because not enough people watched it, piracy or not.
