Well, there's Hooten & the Lady, a one season show about Lady Alex, curator for the British Museum, and Hooten, an adventurer, who travel the world to solve ancient mysteries. Let me copy-paste the imdb synopsis of the second episode:

Hooten asks Lady Alex to help him find the long lost Sibylline Books, a collection of mystical prophecies. In Rome, the museum curator quickly finds herself scaling the Sistine Chapel, battling a sewer alligator and facing the Mafia.

I saw this a while back but from what I remember, that sums the show up pretty well. Iirc, it is
• only as racist as the average tv show,
• pretty colonial,
• features a kickass woman (played by the same actress as Kitty in Elementary) as the main character who'd rather travel through the jungle in Cambodia than partake in British peerage society stuff (like planning her wedding), and
• is stupid in the same way the Indiana Jones movies were stupid. See the synopsis.
