Oh god I am having this exact problem with my current fandom.
Like I wouldn't mind the reader/character fics existing if everyone didn't have 5 versions of the tag when they literally mean 'reader/character' - like they'll tag it as some version of oc/character, YN/Character, OC Reader/character.

ffs can everyone just agree on a tag already so I can filter it out dammit (though I half suspect - at least with my fandom - that a lot of the writers on AO3 have moved from wattpad and are still trying to figure out tags. Still annoying tho)

Same here. I don't know about Wattpad but the fanbase of my current fandom is young.
