This sounds kind of gatekeepy, and off-base anyway because you have to have some familiarity with the comics to even know who Doom is.

It's been explained way better upthread but yeah, Strange/Doom is a fascinating ship in its own right, and there's a lot you can do with it. And they've interacted a fair amount in the comics, not just Triumph and Torment (which is one of my all-time favorite Marvel stories).

There's no shortage of other guys to ship Strange with in the MCU if you want. Tony and Loki of course like you said, also Peter if you don't mind the age gap, Wong, Mordo, and there's a small contingent for a while that was shipping him with Everett Ross (because Martin Freeman). Kind of surprised him and Kaecilius didn't take off bigger than it did, honestly. Mads Mikkelsen! Canon bondage!

(This is going to get wanky because of a character introduced in the end credits, lol, and yes I do enjoy that ship a lot in canon, I don't mind m/f)
