What does TCoR stand for?

I'm thinking The Chronicles Of Riddick - in which case, hopefully there's a new film coming out and so the fandom will revive.

New films are being discussed (to the point where they're thinking of doing them in tandem like the LoTR movies). There is also a new game coming out. And I want it all. Plus the novelizations. And I wanna squee over random crap like how the Guv was the best actor in the whole movie and how I liked the theatrical release better than the director's cut because I haven't played Escape from Butcher Bay (wanna so freakin bad) and I don't really know all this back story. And... ARGGH!

They're actually thinking of doing the new films?

TCoR was cheesy as hell, but I loved it quite a bit and I felt so BAD because Mr. Large Bald Man obviously loved the project so much in all its glorious silliness, and all in all new films would make me really happy.

PS can the Purifier be in the Underworld to do more shit, he was awesome and adorable despite his terrible, TERRIBLE hat and accessories.

Oh, Vin does love this franchise, doesn't he? David Thowy (Twohy?) does too. It was silly and kinda cheesy ("I'm just passin' through." seriously?!), but that hasn't stoped me from wearing out my DVD watching the Crematoria act over and over again (it was the best act), or adoring the hell out of it.

One of the two films might take place in the Underverse and the other on Furya. And you're right. The Purifier was balls, even with the stupid hat.

The story about him showing Judi Dench his D&D monster manuals has these undertones of loving fanboy that make me go 'aww'. It's his D&D / Warhammer 40K baby and I did feel bad for him and Twohy when Chronicles didn't quite make it at the box office.

What stories? He plays D&D? That's so freakin' awesome. We need more actors in the world who are also fanboys/girls.

The movie might have sucked it at the BO, but I hear the game is really good. I keep looking for it whenever I go to Best Buys/Game Stop/Target/Walmart/Wherever, because if I can find it, I can justify spending $200 on an XBox.

Shit, now I've got this image of Vin getting all excited over his monster manuals while Dame Dench desperately seeks an escape from his fanning. It's hilarious.

Diesel is a MASSIVE D&D nerd. Like, arguing about editions nerd. It's sort of endearing.

I'm probably doing this all wrong but, that just makes him even cooler. And now I'm cackling over Karl Urban all decked out like Lord Vaako playing D&D.

It's awesome. I'm loving it. Diesel is quickly becoming one of my favorite actors just for embracing his nerdosity. And to think, he used to creep me out. Go fig.

You are totally not doing it wrong.

He is a big enthusiastic film and D&D dork, and that more than his gigantic shoulders makes me love him. I mean, really, he just THROWS himself into every project with this sincerity (which can be kind of unintentionally hilarious when it's The Pacifier or The Fast and the Furious), but you can't accuse him of slacking. Ever.

I didn't want to like him when he first started getting into big-name movies because he seemed over-hyped. Then I found out he loved my favorite band unashamedly and I was like 'oh, FINE, I relate to and am charmed by you. Dammit.'

Oh God, The Pacifier. I'd almost forgot about that one. What was the courtroom mobster movie? I remember watching that one and being completely boggled by the hair.

Come to think of it, he does throw himself into his projects. And he does have very large shoulders.

Hey, I liked "the Fast and the Furious." ...I also liked "the Pacifier." A lot. I'm easily manipulated, and the 'why are your boobs so big' line gets me every time.'

I've developed a nasty habit of getting into either fandoms that then die in a few months or that died a couple of years ago. I have a friend in the Diagnosis Murder fandom which seems to consist of all of three people now, so I know that that must suck.

I don't know anything about the fandom in question though, sorry.
