I agree that Hannibal is not the protagonist of Hannibal, but I do think that the show is *about* Hannibal, and I think that he is the central character, despite not being the protagonist. And not just for title reasons or because of who's top-billed. Will is the protagonist in a plot that is about his attraction to and seduction by Hannibal, and the interest and matter of the show is the fascination of Hannibal's character and all of the things he does.

Yeah, I think we are in agreement as to the thrust of the show being Will's connection to Hannibal. I think I would quibble with whether he's the central character, in that I think he's a central character with Will, but definitely the show is about them together.
