I think the general reaction has been so messy because the motto after #MeToo was Believe Victims. So now that we've got two people claiming victimhood there isn't an easy "right" way to go about things.

All the storm and stress is our inability to make it fit a neat narrative that works for everyone. If you accept that it's 90/10 one way all the '10's' bad behavior is because of the stress/trauma from the person 90% responsible. If you see it the other way it reverses. So there's no real way to be 'right' because everything that looks like a trauma response or a victim seeking justice to one side looks like further abuse to folks seeing it from the other perspective.

Long story short, I'm glad I'm not on the jury.

All of this. Especially the last part! Being the jury on this trial wouldn’t be fun for me.

I look forward to jury duty and always hope I'll get picked because I consider myself a reasonable person and I think there should be at least 1 per jury.

This though? Fuck no.
