2) When all the comments on a particular secret are in the same place, there's less likely to be a dozen people giving the exact same response.

Ohh, wait. So you're saying this is a good idea because it will reduce participation in the comm. I get it.

No, I'm saying that it'll reduce dogpiling. For example, the throes vs. throws in today's post.

If I'm looking for comments for my secrets and finally find another one, I think it's pretty disappointing when it's the same comment as the one from four pages before.
That way people can just comment 'I agree' or 'iawtc' and still be heard.

No, it means you can reply with 'IA' or 'This' or 'Word'. Or you can elaborate on what the person said, or you can discuss it with them, or you can friend this random like minded-person etc. etc.

Why is it so important for you to type out exactly the same thing that five other people have already said, that the OP of the secret or people who disagree may feel they have to reply to/clarify again.
