It was okaaaaay. You should try it a few more times, I'd probably end up getting used to it.
Overall, I like it. It makes it much easier to find comments one's own secrets. But it might leave less room for spontaneous conversation and finding people with common fandoms. I vote we try the wait-and-see approach a little longer.
I dunno, I think this will actually cause more spontaneous conversations because you won't have to dig through pages and pages of comments to find someone responding to a secret about a fandom you're into.
It's an insane amount of work and annoying to scroll through. Don't bother.

Seems like more work for the mod, but hey, if he wants to do it because the majority of the comm. ends up wanting it... my whole thing is, will it end up being a RULE that we have to post in that thread? Because I tend to read the original post in an RSS reader and just hit "Post Comment." I don't even SEE all the comments unless I click on "Read Comments" and then see all of the threads for it. So trying to find the right thread secrets might be a bit hard.
Nonetheless, it's organization... I'm just wondering if we'd get banned or something for slipping back into our old habits of just posting with numbers in the body of the comment/subject line/whatev.

I like it. The folks posting the secrets can go straight to their comment thread to look for replies to their secret, and I can do the same if I want to see if a secret caused a bunch of wank (or if it's just one pertaining to a fandom I actually know and want to see the replies to), lol. Also, it keeps it so that the post only has one or two pages of replies instead of like 10+. If you don't mind doing the epic amounts of work it requires, then I'm totally down!

I really like it. Honestly I can't see why people wouldn't...I mean, I'm assuming that most people want to look for others who commented on the same secrets, and the secret-makers are always searching out their comments, but it really isn't hard to omg click through maybe a few pages to get to the thread to post in sometimes. Good system!
I personally enjoy commenting on many secrets within a single comment, or about a bunch of themed secrets at once, so I'm not a huge fan of the new format, as organized as it might be. :(
Agreed here. I only spontaneously comment on a few secrets when I feel like it, and having to go through the comments looking for the comment thread to post something would annoy me to no end, even if it's a simple counting procedure. So, I'll probably just stop commenting altogether. No great loss.

I liked it! I had a lot of secrets to comment on, so it took me a little while to put comments, but it was kinda nice doing that because I could see how others had responded before I did. I'm always saying something someone else already said, or asking a stupid question that would've been cleared up by reading through comments, so it's kinda nice having it this way.
:( No. Not just because it's work for you, but when I comment, I like to comment in one post, not scroll through the pages to put each comments in a different thread....and I like to comment on lots of posts, too. :/

I do comment on *groups* of secrets frequently, though. What if we wanna do that? Why can't we start a new comment thread for "hey 105 meet 121" or "there are a lot of --- secrets today"?

I like it. It makes looking for comments to a specific secret so much easier. :D
Too much work for you each day, and it's really a hassle when lj is being slow and you want to reply to more than one secret.
