I thought I might like it at first, but having gone through it, I really really dislike it. I love putting all of my responses to the secrets in one post, and this is kind of annoying to post a response under it's corresponding number.
I like it just because I like organization. Sucks for you, though.
I voted "yes." I'm sorry.

I really think we should try it for a week an then repoll next Saturday. That way everyone can experience and if there are problems with the system they're easier to find the more we use it.
Wow, it makes actual conversation about each entry possible without having to read hundreds of comments. It's awesome. However, it does look like alot of work. I hope you have some sort of macro or coding trick to make that easier :)
I feel horribly spoiled. Everything's SO EASY NOW. ♥
If it's not too much trouble for you, keep it this way forever please?

I'll put my answer in a form that's relevant to this community.

I think it's an atrocious amount of work for you and that just doesn't seem very fair. Why can't people just go through the pages and do some "find"s for their numbers? I always thought it was kind of fun, like some kind of treasure hunt. :U
Must be fun to have a computer that isn't ancient and has virtually no RAM ):

...Your numbering/lettering structure intrigues me.
As for 2, there's an email notification setting for getting emails when someone replies to your comments.
I agree on "A" and "D" though.

It sounded good in theory, but now, going through the comments, I don't think I like it as much...it's not as much fun, seeing the same icon over and over instead of the mixed up variety of all the different people commenting. I like looking at icons. And sometimes I would see a comment on a secret I skimmed over, become interested, and go back for a closer look. And I dunno, I just liked searching through for a secret I was interested, then getting all excited when I saw a comment for it, and so on. But I guess I wouldn't mind a few more days to try to get used to it. =/
THIS. Those aspects of it didn't even register with me, but you're so very right. I agree with everything, 'cept for the "give it more time" bit ;)
what's wrong with the commenting thingerr
I don't really like it. It's okay, but I like the other one better
Voted no. It's way too much work for you and I think it might have an effect on commenting. I know a lot of people say the same thing but if one comment becomes a huge topic, it might make people uncomfortable to start new topics. If that makes sense...
I voted yes, but only if it doesn't mean more work for you.
I voted yes, but I also think it'd be fairer to you if you got co-mods to do the comment threads.
It's organized, I'll give you that. But on a whole it just doesn't feel like f!s. I liked hunting for comments, honestly. It was fun and took up a good five minutes in my day. It reads weird, too, in that my mind is thinking it's a reply in your comment rather than a comment on the actual secret. Stupid, I know. And maybe I'll get used to it if the system becomes permanent, but I think I'll be too busy RAAAAAAAAEGING at how long the load times are. My desktop, which I use most of the time, loads pages slow enough; she's a dinosaur, man. She can't handle the heat. I'm more than sure that as compared to the two minute loading time, I'll be dealing with a ten minute loading time, and... Yeah, don't want.
Honestly, the only pros this has is organazation, in my opinion. There's a lot more cons, to me. It just doesn't appeal to me.

I had the same problem! I was reading the comments and it felt like they were talking to Technophile.

I like the idea, especially since I'm the type who scrolls through all the comments to find the few I want to see, rather than just use ctrl+f all the time.
Here's why I really, really hate this idea.
I saw at least one comment on my secret go up while the mod was putting together the individual comment threads. I guess because that comment was in the wrong place, it got deleted. This means instead of encouraging comments on my secret, my comments actually got removed. This makes me sad. :(

Dude, that sucks. I know if this dumb idea actually becomse reality that I'd just ignore it and post all my replies in one comment (I don't have the time to search around and post in ten different threads -- and I don't even have a slow modem, like some other poor bastards!). But if it'd just be deleted like that... not only would it make me not bother replying to anything at all, but it also discourage me from posting secrets of my own.
Still hate it, for the same reasons I stated before. I didn't even respond to any secrets today because of that, and I know it'd be the same deal in the future (unless I suddenly find myself with tons of free time, which isn't gonna happen anytime soon).
Also, the whole "but you don't have to search anymore!" argument isn't actually true -- the threads end up on different pages, so you have to go through them all anyway to figure out which page the replies you're looking for are on.
Sorry, I just can't fathom why anyone would think this is a good idea!

But we are talking about 3 pages of numerically ordered comments vs 11 pages of comments in any old order.
It's like the difference between trying to find one particular DVD you want on a few shelves that have been ordered alphabetically vs finding multiple copies of the same DVD scattered all over a very large room that is a complete jumbled mess which also has multiple copies of other DVDs you don't want.
No where near the same.
And no, Find doesn't help much when you are looking for more than a couple of secrets. It just gets really annoying.

Seriously annoying to comment on multiple secrets. More time and effort for you, more time and effort for those leaving comments. Ctrl+f wasn't really that big an issue.
Mixed feelings here. On the one hand, it makes it easier to find comments to a particular secret, which I know I try to do-- but on the other, it makes it nearly impossible to just browse comments with no particular secret in mind, because of how the comments collapse-- which I also do.
Time to offer a more formed opinion-
Reasons I like it:
1) It enables conversation about a secret
2) When all the comments on a particular secret are in the same place, there's less likely to be a dozen people giving the exact same response.
3) Easier for secret posters to track responses
4) My Virgo side likes the organization :D

And this is a good thing... why again?
Ohh, wait. So you're saying this is a good idea because it will reduce participation in the comm. I get it.
Yeah, that's pretty stupid.

Okay I just discovered a problem I have with it.
It makes it harder on the commenters to find replies to THEIR comments xD
Although in the long run I don't think it's much of a problem & I sort of like the organization. IDK... I'm abstaining.

IDK about that, as some one who only posts anon, sometimes trying to find the replies in the previous posts was a real pain in the ass. I had no problem this time.
I don't like it but if the majority voted for the YES... :)
