But this is exactly my point. Blaming "over-serialization" in Star Trek on DS9 is ridiculous, because over-serialization is endemic to basically all television making in the 2020s, especially direct-to-streaming franchise TV (same with bad lighting, more or less). It's almost impossible to imagine a Star Trek show in 2022 not being over-serialized, for reasons that have nothing whatsoever to do with Ronald D Moore or DS9. It's a completely ridiculous thing to blame him for.

I don't agree with you about DS9 and I don't think some of your characterization of the show is really fair, but no one has to like everything, you don't like the show and that's fine. But blaming DS9 for serialization in Trek is ridiculous unless you think that DS9 is also somehow responsible for serialization in all other aspects of modern television (which would make it by far the most influential television show of all time).
