To be honest, I never once looked at Dr. Manhattan's penis while I was watching.

Yeah, that's pretty much how it was with me. The second time I saw it I went with my best friend, and pretty much every time there was a full frontal of him, she said something about not believing they were allowed to do it, since the peen is taboo or something. No, the violence didn't bother her; we're both big fans of horror movies, so violence isn't an issue with her. But the blue dong was really distracting for her. Seriously, every time it was on screen she'd lean over and say something like "I'm surprised they were allowed to do this; it's so taboo to show a man's genitals on screen!" only less coherent than that. I dunno. She was fixated.
