...I'm kind of feeling this now, to be honest. I have this PERFECT ending which I absolutely adore, but I have no idea how to get there from the mess that I already wrote. Part of which was written ten years ago, so that's probably why trying to bridge the gap between what I actually wrote and the ending I intended to write didn't work as planned, so I really want to just scrap the entire thing and start over.

Aaaand this is why I really shouldn't post WIPs even when I know I have an ending planned, sigh.

But I dunno. I wrote a lot of things that were just absolutely crap, ridiculous premise, for kink memes and the like. Objectively I recognize that some of them are INCREDIBLY lazy and dumb. But there were still some people who were amused by them, so oh well. It's just fic, we're not getting paid, people are voluntarily choosing to read stuff. (It's nice when people put effort into it, but sometimes it just doesn't turn out amazing, and that's okay.)

...Also if it's self-indulgent in a weird way, yeah, you might find some people who are into the same stuff. I've written some things that are generally considered pretty repulsive, then discovered I knew a couple people who were also really into that.
