Fandom: The Lymond Chronicles CW: Discussion of age-gap pairings and historical matches that would be considered underage today.

Seeing Francis Crawford getting wiggy over the 16-year-old he married (platonically, and to protect her reputation) makes perfect sense considering his own experiences with an older lover when he was 16. Repressed trauma etc. etc.

It's just that re-reading A Game of Kings (the first in the series) and watching him enthusiastically plot to get 14-year-old Agnes Herries married off to a lord he's supporting is one hell of a cognitive swerve. Politics are sordid, I guess.
