If anything, the idea of "turning gay" for a guy who's "plain" should be setting off more alarm bells. If you've got the hots for a super hottie, that's just par for the course. If a normal-looking person turns you on, though, you might just actually like them.

That's also possible! Yeah, it may very well indicate you actually like /the person/ versus looking at this person is making me hot, which I, personally find to be two different things. The former I would consider an emotional attraction whereas the latter would be physical attraction. Hmm...but you also mention the person themselves turns you on... I'm afraid I'm unfamiliar with that feeling, so, I'll have to take your word on it!
