I chose Tim Roth because he is plain. Ryan Reynolds is on the pleasant side of average looking man. Plain indicates that a person's looks are mediocre, not good, on the unattractive side, unappealing.

I guess we have different metrics for what is plain. Tim Roth would fall on the unappealing side of plain for me. Ryan Reynolds would fall solidly under plain to me, because there's nothing in particular to be distinctively "good looking" to me -- I can see others disagreeing; I think maybe I just live in a place where there's a fair number of people who have distinctive looks-- I live in a very large city. There's a really wide spectrum for unattractive---normal---attractive, which of course includes personal taste. I would place Domnhall Gleeson under the same umbrella as Tim Roth, but I find him attractive. A truly plain individual to me would be someone like James Spader. Any "everyman" actor would be like the cast of the office, or Vincent D'Onfrio (although he is distinctive) would count as well.
