Not me. It's why I couldn't get into KDramas because of sexism. The last one I watched half of was an older one called "My Lovely Samsoon"/"My Name is Kim Samsoon" and I was already about to throw my TV screen (this was when Asian channels aired something good around 2006/07). The guy (her boss) is a literal dick and I feel bad for the Samsoon character, but the show treats her like literal garbage... *sighs* I wish there were better KDramas out there that were made in the 2010s that show how awesome female characters can be at times and finally stand up to their jerky guys...

If you want to try again, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by what you can find now. There's definitely a reason Kdramas have exploded in popularity recently.

A lot of the Netflix branded kdramas should be fine. Depending on what you like, I would recommend trying Squid Games, Uncanny Counters, or Kingdom. Itawon Cafe also has a bunch of interesting, complicated female characters as leads. But if you want to watch a show where the lead female character puts her male boss in his place a bunch try 'Strong Girl Bong Soon'

I cried so much watching that. One of first kdramas I saw. Another one was with a crossdressing delivery 'guy'.

Also what's with the abusive workplaces with bosses beating employees?

Corporal punishment is such a huge thing in Asian cultures. Still hard to try to talk to old fashioned people about the harms of "teaching" your children to "get in line" by way of hitting them. Children don't get over the physical abuse.

Given how hierarchical Korea's culture is, I can see an employer's feeling a "right" to abuse employees physically (and that's not to address the anger issues specific to Korean men due to Korea's history with colonialism).

Y'know you could actually search for KDrama's that suit your interests, right? There's a few that came out within your time constraints that I know of that aren't the same old garbage you'll find anywhere else in the world.
I'll have to do a deep search to find them but one had to do with the woman being the idols body guard, I'm pretty sure. And another where a woman could talk to ghosts? Or something like that- my memory's terrible and its obviously been a few years...
