Sorry, not at the 42 minute mark, at the 47:42 mark. A direct quote from the audio:

JD: We have to be apart from one another, whether it's for a fucking, an hour or ten hours or fucking, a day. We must… There can be no physical violence.

AH: I can't promise you that I'll be perfect. I can't promise you that I won't get physical again. God, I fucking sometimes get so mad, I lose it. I can fucking promise you I'm gonna do everything to change.

How can you listen to Johnny Depp begging for an end to the physical violence and have literally any question in your mind as to who the abusive party was in this situation? And it's like, no wonder people were so invested in this trial. You have a rich, famous victim of DV being slandered in the media by people who should know better, just because he's a dude, I guess? It's infuriating!

People going on about them both being abusive are the same people that unquestionably believed Amber Heard's story before. They'll just say that it's just one instance and the ones with the abuser Depp just wasn't cought on tape.

Yeah, it's horrible. With that s said, I wonder how many of the people defending AH have even heard this tape. I almost didn't hear it. If it weren't for Illuminaughti's video, I would never have found this audio. I think (well, hope) that if more people heard this audio, there would be less support for AH.

I unquestionably believed her when she made her claims. It’s what I do when anyone makes an accusation of any kind of abuse.

But it was pretty early on that I started doubting her. I never questioned the photos of her with the bruised face until I saw the photos of her and her sister partying that week and she didn’t have the bruise but then she did when she went back out in public.

Then the kitchen video “leaked” and…it didn’t make sense. All that video seemed to me was like a man having breakdown. I can see that as being stressful for anyone else in the home but it wasn’t proof he was abusive (as it was promoted on social media) and even in the edited version she comes off way worse than he does.
Then there’s the most recent revelations, like her videoing and photographing every little thing. And she genuinely seemed to think that he came off as abusive in the “mountain of evidence” she provided but he never did even once. Her behaviour in the videos does though as well as the creepy level of filming she did. All she caught was her making statements admitting she abused him.
I always believe victims until they give a reason not and she gave a lot of reasons not to believe her. I was shocked earlier this week at one of the FS threads where someone brought up the broken liquor bottle rape as if it was true. It isn’t. There is no way that happened and she didn’t require medical attention at any time whatsoever. The laceration damage alone would require medical attention to say nothing of the nerve damage that act would do.
Idk. I agree they’re both shitty people but I will never see it as them being mutually abusive. And I honestly can’t understand any other viewpoint on them. The evidence is all there supplied by her own hand!

DA - My stance is, "AH is definitely abusive, and as for JD, I honestly don't know, so I'm not going to make any statements of opinion one way or the other." And I'm gonna stick with that. I'm not up for poring over all the evidence for hours in an attempt to decide whether I, a random person whose opinion means nothing, believe JD is also abusive. But it would be just plain socially irresponsible for me to go around stating that he absolutely isn't abusive if I'm not in-the-know enough to be sure of my stance. So I won't be arguing that he definitely isn't, but I will be giving him the benefit of the doubt insofar as I will support projects he's involved in if they interest me and won't be talking about him as though he's guilty. *shrug*

AYRT that makes sense. My last comment was more about the people who are stanning AH and still calling him an abuser and she his victim. I’ve seen a shocking amount who claim the videos prove it and...they just don’t. I just don’t understand how anyone could watch those and think she’s the victim was really what I was trying to say.
